Moving and Installing Olhausen Tables
An Olhausen move follows our precision process: pockets and rails off and labeled, felt removed, slate lifted flat, frame protected, legs separated and protected, and reassembly to spec. The tables are heavy, and we plan the move accordingly. Reassembly ends with machinist-level leveling and a play test.
For new installations, we inspect for shipping damage before assembly and set the table up true from day one. For used Olhausen purchases, we inspect at pickup: these tables are built to last, so a used one in good condition is usually an excellent buy, and we will tell you honestly if it is not.
Servicing the Lifetime Table
Olhausen markets their tables as lifetime tables, and the service implication is simple: everything wear-related is worth doing because the core table never wears out. Cloth every decade or so, cushions every couple of decades, a re-level when the house shifts. Each service restores the table to like-new play for a fraction of replacement cost.
